Purchase a Grow Kit!
What is Growing Uptown?
Since March, the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum, in partnership with New York Common Pantry and Garden Kitchen Lab, has empowered 20 families to grow food in their urban apartments in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx through our new Growing Uptown program, as a start to closing the gap in food security in their own homes.
What is a Grow Kit?
DFM has put together kits that are more robust to include food staples. Ultimately, these simple Grow Kits help families learn more about where their food comes from. They are just the beginning of how Growing Uptown can foster successful, impactful urban gardening as we expand the program.
A Grow Kit includes:
5 Packets of Seeds (Italian Large Leaf Basil, Deep Purple Onion, Baby Beet, Rosemary, and Santo Cilantro)
Seed Starter Propagation Tray
Three 2-Gallon and two 7-Gallon Heavy Duty Grow Bags
Grow Light
Trowel
- Grow Instructions and Recipe Cards
How Can You Help?
Your Grow Kit purchase will assist the museum to fulfill our mission to continue the important work of the Growing Uptown program.
