The WES Foundation 2021 Football & Cheer Camp
The WES Foundation is excited to announce our 4th annual WES Foundation Fundamental Football & Cheerleading Camp, a FREE one-day camp experience for Horry County area student-athletes. The purpose of this camp is to provide area youth with the opportunity to enhance their football and cheerleading skills and to provide them guidance and instruction that will assist them in becoming successful, productive members of our community. Our Foundation's overall mission is to help kids to understand that they can be successful without being a professional athlete. We want them to chase their goals and want to help equip them with tools for success both on and off of the field.
WES stands for “Working Everyday = Success.” Because of community support, over the last three years, we were able to provide a FREE camp to more than 450 young student-athletes that were rising 3rd to 8th graders. At the camp, we brought together over 50 coaches and numerous other volunteers from across the country to emphasize the meaning of the Foundation’s name.
Our camp is led by Coach Everette Sands, who played football at Conway High and The Citadel and who has more than 25 years of collegiate coaching experience. The majority of our other coaches are also former student-athletes (collegiately and professionally). We also bring in other community leaders to address our campers. Our mission is to provide our campers not only with the fundamentals in football but, more importantly, to provide them with the fundamentals of life. We know that over the last three years, our camp has had a positive impact on the Horry County community. The camp will be held this year on June 29, 2021, at the Conway Recreation Center! A Banquet honoring Conway Rec. League Football Champions will be held the night of June 28, 2021.
