Hike & Sketch June 19 Bear Mountain NY
Come HIKE & SKETCH with artists and friends for a good cause! 10AM to 3PM
Date: Saturday, June 19, 2021
Time: 10:00AM EDT - 3:00PM
Registration: 9:30 am, at the picnic area
"Let's create a day of art in nature, where Asian and Western communities commingle. If we slow down with the backdrop of beautiful Hudson river, and Bear Mountain lodge and its adjacent lake, we can create great memories, some beautiful images, and new friendships. This in turn will be a strong connector for Nepal and our Nepal team to install our new Computer Learning Environment Center in the Manang district! "
- Ed Antoine, President AO
Receive drawing/painting/sketching tips from experienced artists and enter your creation to win a prize! Open to adults and children!
Join world renowned professional illustrator Stefano Imbert (see below) who will start the event by providing tips on engaging your inner spirit with the natural beauty surrounding you to create personal expressions to share.
You will be able to join a hiking guide and/or artist to explore one of three options based on interest and hiking ability:
—> An easy stroll around the lake, the ability to relax with a cup of Nepali tea, and paint/draw/sketch.
--> A more moderate 30-to-45-minute hike along the Appalachian Trail to the first beautiful view of the Hudson River to paint/draw/sketch the vista.
—> A challenging hike along the Major Welsh trail that provides gorgeous views of the Hudson River and the potential view of Manhattan at the peak. If you choose to hike to the peak to draw/sketch/paint you will have thirty minutes for your creation before having to return.
For lunch time, everyone will return to the Picnic Area to share and discover food, culture, artwork and nature.
During this time, as the artists review everyone’s artwork, you will learn more about Digital Bridges 4 Nepal, Inc.’s projects to bring Computer Learning Environment Centers (CLEC) to the students and communities of Nason, Manang District, in rural Nepal. We appreciate any donations to support these projects. 100% of your donation is used to support the establishment of these CLECs.
