Another facet of the trail is the Community Food Garden, where raised bed gardening will help improve food insecurity. The historical significance of these are: The Town of Taft, Oklahoma is one of the original remaining thirteen all-black towns chartered in the State of Oklahoma. Our school was founded by W. T. Vernon, an African American AME Church Bishop, who served as Register of the Treasury, appointed by Theodore Roosevelt.
