Mobile Fresh Volunteers
Be Part of an Active Solution in the Fight Against Hunger
Second Harvest of the Greater Valley is in need of happy and loving volunteers at our Mobile Fresh sites!
Mobile Fresh is a direct distribution of free produce and assorted items to those that are low-income and having a difficult time accessing (affording) fresh produce. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our Mobile Fresh events converted to a new drive-through model in order to adhere to health and safety guidelines. With the easing of COVID restrictions, we have converted some of our events back to our former walk-up model. It is indicated for each shift whether the event will be held as a drive-through or walk-up distribution.
No matter the style in which the event is held, volunteers are absolutely necessary to make each distribution a success! Volunteers help with set-up, distribution, and clean-up. Distributing food to those in need allows our volunteers to witness first-hand the impact of their work on the local community.
Time Involved: Mobile Fresh distribution events take place 1-3x per month, per city. Please check the list of available shifts to see which locations work best for you. Each event takes approximately 2 hours. You can come one time or every time!
Requirements: Volunteers must be able to carry 20+ pounds, bend, and stand for long periods of time in all weather. Closed toed shoes are required for all volunteers. Masks are not required but recommended, as we have a high volume of people who attend these events. Gloves will be provided on site. If you have a smile to share, a positive attitude, and a desire to give - we are looking for you!
GROUPS WELCOMED! We require 2 weeks' minimum advanced notice for the date which your group would like to volunteer for.
