On September 29, 2020, my husband Justin and I experienced a loss that no one could prepare first time parents for: the loss of our daughter, Aubrey Rae, at 38.5 weeks gestation. Throughout the last four months, we have spent every waking moment looking for comfort and support to help ourselves, and our families, heal from this tragedy.


Our journey brought us into the “nest” of Three Little Birds Perinatal: a fiscally sponsored project by Federation of Neighborhood Centers Philadelphia, that provides pregnancy and infant loss support to families at no cost and never directly solicit them for monetary donation. This organization has provided our family with every type of resource and support that we as loss parents could need (and not imagine we need!) as we progress in our new normal, which effects an astounding one in every four families. 

Three Little Birds support services’ range from supporting family’s bedside with memory making and photography support, to perinatal bereavement training for medical staff to supporting the world-wide push to #shatterthestigma of pregnancy and infant loss. They have developed a nest of volunteers that can walk the journey with others, as well as do anything possible to help bond with and honor our babies. Details of our specific services, along with stories of love, loss and hope from our families are shared on our website for more information.

As we continue to look for ways to honor our daughter’s legacy and continue keeping her spirit alive, the support we have received through Three Little Birds is constantly a driving force. We have decided that the best way to honor our daughter is to help support Three Little Birds mission to support and honor other families like ours.

On April 25, we will be partnering with Remix Fitness of Horsham for the 1st annual “Aerobics for Aubrey”: a day where we will be celebrating our daughter’s legacy through exercise and raffle prizes. The event will consist of a donation based 60 minute workout class, where we will remember our beautiful daughter, with all donations going directly to Three Little Birds.
