Holiday Food and Essentials Fund

Help us spread love and joy this Holiday Season!

This Holiday Season, help us spread love and joy in Caribbean communities in Richmond Hill, Queens, Flatbush, Brooklyn, and Soundview, in The Bronx.

Please help us reach our goal of $15,000 by December 31, 2O21!

The Caribbean Equality Project, The Campaign Against Hunger, South Queens Women's March, and New York Communities for Change- Flatbush Chapter, and the United Madrassi Association are collaborating to host a Holiday Food and Essentials Distribution series for December. Many of our diverse documented and undocumented Caribbean (Indo and Afro-Caribbean), South Asian, and Latinx families -including LGBTQ+ immigrants and asylum seekers- are still experiencing unprecedented food insecurity right now, due to the financial crisis caused by COVID-19 in New York City.

Since 2020, our partnership with The Campaign Against Hunger has allowed us to collectively feed over 42,000 people, many of whom are low-income and working-class Caribbean immigrants and LGBTQ+ people, including undocumented families. To date, we have hosted 21 hyper-local pop-up pantries in Queens and Brooklyn, serving an average of 400 families by providing an invaluable community space to access culturally-responsive nutritious food, COVID-19 testing and vaccine resources, sexual health and period products, and life-saving information for survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence.

We need your help to sustain our critical hyper-local food justice work! Caribbean-centric neighborhoods across New York City- many of which are still disproportionately impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic & its economic crises- would greatly benefit from your generosity this holiday season.

Our 2021 Holiday Food and Essentials Distribution series will serve over 1000+ families, an average of 350 families per borough, a total of over 5000 people.
