The Gutman Envision Scholarship
Honor Chuck’s memory and the legacy of his lifetime achievements
The Gutman Envision Scholarship honors the life and legacy of Chuck Gutman, and his relentless advocacy to support young people from Waukegan to live their dreams through access to a college education. Chuck's impact on his students still lives today.
When asked about Mr. Gutman, our Waukegan to College Alumni Board Chair and Governance Board member Gil Colin shared, " Chuck Gutman, Mr. Gutman, he was a force to reckon with. He was really passionate about helping first-generation students get to college. He put in more than his job required. He was my Abbott teacher, college readiness program. We stayed after school to learn about college, apply to scholarships, and to colleges as well. None of that was part of the job description. He met us up on the weekends as well and out of his own will, he took us to visit colleges. He was someone who was really passionate about helping students and I was lucky to be one of the students that he helped out."
THANK YOU for making a donation to support the Gutman Envision Scholarship Fund in honor of Chuck Gutman, and recently, to honor Chuck's Mom, Shelley Gutman.
Your gift to honor Chuck and Shelley will also have a tremendous impact in the lives of our exceptional scholars.
