Tope Olasanoye- Open Heart Medical Mission
Join My Efforts!
Hey! My name is Tope Olasanoye. I'm a Clinical Perfusionist from London, U.K. I've been a perfusionist for 8 years at Harefield Heart and Lung Hospital in London. I have also worked in Australia. VOOM Foundation definitely intrigued my interest because it has provided me with the opportunity to help those less fortunate than I am whilst also allowing me to enhance healthcare in underprivileged areas in Nigeria. When I heard about the VOOM Foundation, I was so sure it was something I would have to be involved with in the future, so when the opportunity arose, I literally jumped at it. I'm proud and extremely honoured to be asked to assist on this mission to Nigeria. It fills me with even more happiness because as a fellow Nigerian, I want to be able to help those less fortunate from my country of origin. So to be given the opportunity to do so is a dream come true.
The ability to be involved in highly specialised humanitarian work is also a reason i have decided to join the VOOM Foundation team for this upcoming open-heart medical mission in Nigeria. Whilst also being in a teaching role in my home hospital, the ability to be able to pass skills and knowledge in a teaching capacity whilst in Nigeria is another reason why I am more than happy to serve on this mission. Knowing that the work VOOM does is further preparing an environment and culture of sustainability also inspires me. I am really looking forward to working with the local staff and passing as much of my skill and knowledge base as a perfusionist.
Thank you for your consideration and continued support of this volunteer opportunity I've been given!
