About the Artist: Barbara Marks Blue
Art and creativity have defined Barbara's life for as long as she can remember, inspiring her to not only live a creative life, but also to pursue art professionally & in ministry. She is a painter, creates jewelry, and has been a mentor to a countless number of students throughout her career as an arts educator/professor and workshop presenter. Her favorite kind of teaching is using art therapy towards healing of trauma victims.
Barbara works in a variety of media: primarily acrylics, watercolor, collage, print making (monotype, chine colle', etchings), plus silver gemstone jewelry. Her paintings range in size, but are always full of creative problem solving, developed in layers using rich colors and a wide variety of tools and techniques. She feels God has blessed her with creative gifts that she can use to bring out the creative potential and joy in others.
