Syzygy Dance Project (SDP) brings the transformative power of dance to diverse communities including veterans, inmates, recovering addicts, people living with chronic illness, and the elderly. We currently offer 10 ongoing movement programs in the San Francisco Bay Area, and have served nearly 3,000 people. We are dedicated to helping people overcome physical, mental, and emotional challenges by connecting mind, body, and spirit through the power of movement. Many of our participants face significant life challenges including poverty, substance abuse, homelessness, chronic illness, physical trauma and/or mental health issues. Using creative movement exercises, participants learn how to utilize their body as a resource to release stress, anxiety, and/or depression, deal with challenging personal situations, and create space for joy, fun, and healthier behaviors. We've repeatedly witnessed how movement can transcend age, race, ethnicity and gender, allowing us to more readily face challenges, increase self-acceptance, and unify and uplift us all. We have many moving stories of awakening, connection, and healing as a result of the powerful impact of dance. To learn more visit syzygydanceproject.org and watch the videos below!
