2021 JHF Needs You Campaign
Dear Friends of JHF,
At JHF, we have been so encouraged as our communities have begun to recover from the unprecedented pandemic. Understandably, it is not over yet, and there are still many hurdles to overcome. While we do not know what the future holds, we do know that our Residents will continue to need our services, and we know that their needs have not decreased, but rather increased as a result of all that we have been through and continue to experience. Here at the John Henry Foundation, our vulnerable clients impressed us with their resiliency throughout the crisis. We will be forever grateful to the dedicated staff–our heroes–who kept everyone stable and safe throughout this difficult time. As we recover from so many unexpected challenges, as well as financial and personal costs, we remain dedicated and inspired by our Mission. We are so hopeful for our program and our Residents as we look toward the future.
The cost of managing through the crisis while continuing to provide the premier level of services and the beautiful tranquil setting we are known for has been immense. Some of these expenses include: • Increased costs of food for our healthy eating program and basic supplies for self care needs • Additional cleaning supplies and PPE to protect Residents and staff • New games, art supplies, and special foods to help our Residents thrive • Purchase of a large event tent, furniture and decor to create a beautiful space to safely visit with family–our “Grotto” • Investment in a new van the program desperately needed, maintenance costs, replacement of washers, dryers and furniture, etc. • Absorbing the decreased revenue we experienced specifically due to the impacts of COVID. • Taking further steps to build the Pergola we need for a shaded space for outdoor activities and dining
Though we have experienced such challenges, we continue to invest in our program, our Residents and our staff.
We have worked together as a team to ensure that every day has had meaning. Simply said: WE NEED YOU!
P.S. Thank you for continuing to embrace the mission of The John Henry Foundation:
