Miracle Miles Virtual Run 2021 Updated
Run, skip, or walk 72 miles in 72 days.

Introducing our second virtual run. We begin this year on Sept 3rd and end on World Diabetes Awareness Day, Nov. 14th. In support of children whose lives changed forever in the ER, doctors office or hospital room, like ours did 13 years ago. It was March 23rd when we rushed Michael to the ER with what we thought was a virus and dehydration. It was 13 years ago in a small ER in Leigh HIgh Valley Hospital where we received the news, that it was Type 1 Diabetes. We were away from home, out of State and out of time. The New Jersey State Police stepped up and took a midnight flight to meet us and took Michael to Robert Wood Johnson University Hosptial in New Brunswick on a quick helicopter ride. There was only room for two. Ed would have to jump into a car and drive the 72 long miles to meet us there. 72 miles to worry about his son and if he was going to be alright. 72 miles to consider how life would never be the same. 72 miles and 11 days later we emerged with our Miracle Son, who survived the highest recorded blood sugar level. Even the doctors called it a miracle. We have been working hard these last 13 years to not only care for Michael, but to help as many families as we can, whose lives have changed forever in a small ER.
Join us by walking or running 72 miles in 72 days to bring attention to Type 1 Diabetes and to support families whose lives changed forever when the received the news.
