St. Petersburg, FL – A Luau complete with grass skirts, Island music and dancers, Tiki torches and Hawaiian delicacies is coming to the Pasadena Yacht and Country Club in Gulfport thanks to a local veteran’s charity. Cyber Ohana Project is holding its first Gala fundraiser on Saturday, November 13th and is inviting those who want to help make a difference in the lives of those transitioning to civilian life. Tickets are on sale now for $100.
Cyber Ohana Project, a fiscally sponsored project under Social Good Fund, is dedicated to helping transitioning military, veterans and their spouses who are passionate about securing a position in the highly desirable career of cybersecurity. As predicted, the demand for cybersecurity talent continues to rise fueled by the pandemic and the continued increase in Ransomware attacks.
In August 2020, Cyber Ohana launched its first Cohort of scholarship recipients in its certification program. Since the launch, numerous scholarship applications have been received for the charity’s training, certification, mentorship and placement services. This is a great problem to have but it has stretched the non-profit’s resources to the limit. The fundraiser will help replenish the organization’s scholarship funds and provide much needed services to its members.
Thank you for your consideration and support of our Veterans and their families.
