17 pages; To help kids keep learning when they can't go to school, we're creating independent study versions of our standards-based classroom activities. The independent study version of Champions for Health is designed to be self-guided for upper elementary and middle school students learning from home.
This guide includes learning standards, objectives and instructions plus student instructions and materials for independent study, plus a link for downloading student instructions as a separate document (see table of contents).Contact Michelle Dake at [email protected] with questions, or call 816-523-5353.
Champions for Health provides simple standard aligned lesson plans and student materials. In these interactive lessons, upper elementary and middle school students serve as leaders to advocate for healthy eating and active living in their school or community.
Students explore three progressive stages:
1. Healthy Habits
2. Healthy Communities
3. Speaking Out for Healthy Kids
All activities are aligned with both Missouri and Kansas learning standards as well as the National Health learning standards and Presidential Youth Fitness standards.
