School children in East Ramapo Central School District have been deprived of their right to a sound basic education. Due to actions of school board members and officials, who diverted public funds to support private religious schools, vital public school programs were cut, leading to a steady decline in the quality of education. Advocates for Justice (A4J) has been fighting a federal civil rights lawsuit on behalf of student and taxpayer plaintiffs, seeking to return misused public funds to ERCSD, remove the school board members, and ensure proper fiscal management for East Ramapo. A4J has represented the plaintiffs for free, but must cover significant court, deposition and discovery expenses. A4J has also argued many appeals, including one before the Federal Court of Appeals regarding the defendants' effort to dismiss the student plaintiffs from the lawsuit. Please donate to A4J to assist with some of these expenses so that we can continue to fight for important causes. Donations are tax deductible.
