Get Centered, A Workshop for Parents and Guardians
More than forty years of research indicates that mindfulness practices may help us reduce stress and anxiety and increase well-being. In this workshop for parents and guardians of teens, participants will experience and learn about how mindful awareness practices may benefit their families. Mindfulness practices help us feel more aligned (grounded, centered, and with balanced nervous systems); authentic (being and exhibiting our true selves); and connected (attuned to our thoughts, emotions, and physical bodies so we can be self-compassionate and compassionate with others).
Join the Space Between team in learning about mindful awareness practices. In this workshop, we will:
- Define what mindfulness is an is not, demystifying it and making it very accessible
- Provide several different mindfulness practices that you may use the next day
- Give some basic information about the teen brain and why mindfulness practices can be helpful.
- Introduce practices for presence, connection and support for ourselves and our teens during tough times
