Founded in 1961, San Francisco Cinematheque is committed to supporting film/video artists through screenings and exhibitions, publications and our research archive. Since March 27, 2020, Cinematheque has presented 36 online exhibitions, which have included curated video programs, live artist talks and curator presentations, and two iterations of the annual CROSSROADS film festival. These programs—all presented free of charge—were seen by over 30,000 viewers worldwide and included the work of over 200 filmmakers, with screening fees paid to all artists. All online programs were presented free of charge.
YOUR SUPPORT IS ESSENTIAL
Cinematheque’s local and international community forms the backbone of our operations and is absolutely essential to our success. The staff and Board of San Francisco Cinematheque will remain true to our Mission to cultivate the international field of artist-made film, to support artists and to provide our international communities with inspiring film/video experiences.
In support of Cinematheque’s ongoing Mission, we hope that you will support our work by making a tax-deductible donation or joining (or re-joining) as a member.
Support of Cinematheque can take the form of donated funds or memberships. Memberships, available at varying levels (details here), provide “perks and privileges”—discount/free admission to screenings, discounts on purchases from our online store, waived CROSSROADS festivalentry fees and more. Memberships are not tax-deductible. Donations, which can be given at any amount, do not provide “perks” to the giver and are 100% tax-deductible. All donations and memberships are greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!
