Help us honor the memory of Roy E. Boswell (6/15/1939 - 8/25/2021) by supporting the education of future Porterville College students.
Roy Boswell, husband, father, friend, climber, outdoorsman, friend of Bill W., taught English at Porterville College. It thrilled him to bring literature and even grammar to life in the classroom with his students. Teaching was his second career, one that he had boundless dedication and energy for, in fact completing grading on his last set of assignments for the 2021 spring semester days before bladder cancer surgery. Roy was inspired by his students, especially those who found themselves on a non-traditional path - single parents, those without family support, individuals who perhaps hadn't excelled in school up to this point but were ready to do the work now.
Please consider donating to the Roy E. Boswell Memorial Scholarship Fund. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to endow a $500 annual scholarship in perpetuity. We plan to begin the
distribution of scholarships in the Fall of 2023. Thank you for your donation.
