It Takes A Village Community Farm
Support the new 3 acre community farm in Sauk Village, IL

In 2019, members of Grace United Church of Christ and Just Roots Chicago came together to discuss the vision for a community farm in Sauk Village, a south suburb of Chicago. The vision was to build a farm that would produce thousands of pounds of fresh food for the local community, provide hands-on educational programming and job training, and bring people together in the process.
Two years later, It Takes A Village Community Farm was born! The 3 acre farm site will include nearly 1 acre of vegetable production, an orchard, multiple greenhouses, pollinator gardens, and large amounts of community gathering space.
It Takes A Village Community Farm is being developed by and for the Sauk Village community and is projected to:
- Produce over 50,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables annually, equating to over 35,000 meals.
- Distribute fresh food to Sauk Village and neighboring communities through our community supported agriculture (CSA) program, weekly farmers market and farm stand, food pantry donations, and partnerships with local schools, healthcare institutions, and restaurants.
- Facilitate free educational programming for over 500 youth and adults annually.
- Create 5+ jobs annually
- Host several community events each year.
We are proud of what we've accomplished thus far. But there is still so much work left to do and we need your help. Support It Takes A Village Community Farm with a donation today!
By making a tax-deductible donation, you are supporting the development of a local, resilient, community driven food system in Chicago's south suburbs. Your donation will help us complete the buildout of the farm and ensure that every person in the greater Chicago region can access their right to food that benefits their health, community, and environment.
