We invite you to participate in ZiRu Dance's Empowered to Move campaign which will support our 2022 Education and Community Building Projects.
Our goal is to raise $75,000 dollars by the end of the year. With your generous support, we will be able to uplift members of our community through these projects. Your generous contribution will help support these four community building programs:
1. Pathways to Recovery - A new collaborative work that engages PTSD patients involved in movement therapy and traces the stories of those afflicted by it.
2. ZiRu Dance in Schools - New 2022 programming that provides dance education to boys and girls in title-1 Peninsula area schools at a free or reduced price.
3. The Repertory Program - Scholarship opportunities for disadvantaged youth in middle school and high school to perform with company dancers and other professional artists.
4. Sight-Specific - Live and virtual reality performances and panel discussions addressing xenophobia and racism in our communities.
For more information about each program, please visit zirudance.com or click on the program you wish to learn more about in the links below.
ZiRu Dance continues to focus on Renewal as we set our eyes on the year ahead- renewal for our youth, renewal for PTSD patients, renewal for artists, renewal for our community -all who suffered greatly during covid. At a time when so many arts organizations have shut down, we remain here for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Artists, our community and believe in the power of the arts as it is captured in the language of dance.
We believe in the uplifting power of dance and we hope you will partner with us to bring healing, growth and new opportunities to the Peninsula Community.
