DrawTogether is an interactive show and learning universe, created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, that provides kids across the globe with high-quality art and social-emotional learning content. DrawTogether fills an acute need for free, on-demand libraries of programming that empower our most vulnerable and traditionally marginalized learners - while raising up the voices of BIPOC artists and makers from all over the world - and exploring how art can help address communities in crisis, bridge difference and actualize a more just society.
DrawTogether is hosted by New York Times’ first weekly visual columnist and #1 bestselling illustrator Wendy MacNaughton (co-creator of Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat). On a playful, 100% hand-made set with simple art materials, DrawTogether uses supportive instruction, growth mindset, humor, and the occasional silly dance to teach kids to draw – while instilling curiosity, emotional awareness, and confidence.
With DrawTogether, the screen comes alive with a diverse community of guests and participants, empowering kids (grades PreK-8) to build the skills they need to thrive, and providing educators and parents with tools to spark imagination and inspire online learning. In short, DrawTogether uses art to grow hearts.
