The Wild Alabama team is excited to offer our first ever Backpacking 101 women's course! Join us for 4 consecutive Zoom classes (Mondays, starting March 28th) and a 2-night 3-day backpacking trip in the Talladega National Forest. Details and dates are listed below. Contact Brittany Seaborg at [email protected] with questions or comments.
Why join this class?
By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to backpack. This is an opportunity for women to learn with others and experience the freedom of backcountry living, without having to go out on their own.
Who can join?
Women ages 21+ are welcome to join the course!
What is Wild Alabama offering?
Education! We cannot provide the gear, you will have to purchase equipment on your own. However, we will be giving you a packing list and guidance throughout the course on how to choose your gear. The course will cover the topics of cooking outdoors, water filtration, hygiene, what to look for in gear, LNT principles, and more!
Is there a cost to attend?
The class is free. However, there is a refundable $30 registration fee to hold your spot. It will be refunded to you when you attend the course, or if you cancel prior to March 28th. You can also choose to donate to the cause!
