2022 IRISH PASTORAL CENTRE BOSTON MARATHON
A running cause
The Irish Pastoral Centre continues to expand fundraising efforts to celebrate our work within our community.
We are pleased to announce that two fantastic runners will be running on our behalf in the 2022 Boston Marathon
Our 2022 runners are: Walter Hannon and Joey Lawlor
Meet Walter: My name is Walter Hannon. I was born and raised in Quincy, one of three siblings.
My great Grandfather came to Quincy in 1890 from Ballygar Ireland, a small town in Co. Galway
I am an Electric supervisor for Eversource, this will be my first year running the Boston Marathon.
The Marathon is a great way to stay in shape as well as raising money for a great cause.
This year I am honored to run for the Irish Pastoral Centre (IPC). The work they do for the Irish community in Boston is remarkable.
Meet Joey: My name is Joseph Lawlor, I was born and raised in Quincy, MA.
I’m one of six in a large Irish family. My family comes from Co. Galway Ireland. I’m a registered nurse running the Boston Marathon for the first time.
I enjoy running to help stay in shape and the marathon is the top tier of a challenge for me to compete at.
I am running for the Irish Pastoral Centre because I believe in the work they are doing. It is greatly helping the Irish population of Boston!
To support this fundraising effort, please consider making an online donation, or by attending our Nostalgia Nite on Saturday, April 9th in Florian Hall.
