Gabriel Rothenberg's Mitzvah Project
For my Bar Mitzvah in May, I am doing a mitzvah project. I will be hosting a charity basketball game as well as collecting money for the American Friends of Israel Sport Center for the Disabled. This is a great non-profit with a wonderful mission. The Center is located in Ramat Gan, Israel. It is a place where Israelis can participate in and train for many different sports like tennis, basketball, swimming, and biking. Some of the athletes have even participated in the Paralympics. They also assist in helping athletes get wheelchairs which can cost up to $5000. I enjoy playing sports like tennis and soccer and I think this is a great foundation because it can allow people with disabilities to continue to play sports with confidence.
In December I will visit Israel with my family and hope to be able to go to the center to meet the athletes in person. My goal is to be able to help raise enough money for one wheelchair. Please donate to help me reach my goal. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
