Since 1992, the Exchange Family Center has counseled Durham families to prevent child abuse and neglect and keep kids safe. Our free, bilingual, and evidence-based services improve caregiver-child dynamics and prevent trauma for more than 250 families a year but more need help: we have over 80 children on our waitlist.
As we mark our 30th anniversary, we invite you to join EFC’s seminal celebration of the kids and families of Durham, “Pinwheels, Putters, and Pearls,” a gala evening on Saturday, October 22 and a golf tournament the morning of Monday, October 24, 2022, both at the Croasdaile Country Club. At the Gala, we're thrilled to present the Golden Pinwheel Award to longtime Durham family-court judge, the Honorable Nancy Gordon, and are grateful to our Honorary Chair, Karen Appleyard Carmody of the Center for Child and Family Health. Honorary Guest Steve Schewel, Durham's former Mayor, will kick off the golf tournament!
