This is for you, the loving, literary Beasties who know us well and have seen what we do. You know what this festival means to Oakland's writing communities and how we bring people together. If you do not yet know, or are learning, we invite you to join as a volunteer and read at one of our Open Mics. Helping us raise funds is another great way to support our cause.

What we do is an important component of Oakland creativity and literary culture. This is how we celebrate community. This is how we celebrate belonging. Writers cut their teeth with us, formalize their careers with us, meet new people with us, and join new networks that have untold potential.
