It’s time for our annual Cigars & Curveballs fundraiser to support the DC Grays and our DC Grays RBI youth programs. Once again, this year, we will be Shelly’s Back Room at 1331 F Street NW in the District.
The event is Monday, May 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., hosted by Washington Times columnist and DC Grays Baseball board member Thom Loverro. A $100 donation includes three cigars, appetizers, and an auction of sports memorabilia, game tickets, and other merchandise. Cash bar available.
Since 2014, we have been hosting one of the best fundraisers in the city, attracting celebrities and raising money a great cause. The DC Grays carry on the heritage of the legendary Negro League champion Homestead Grays and are committed to creating opportunities for kids from underserved communities to be able to play baseball and softball for free. We operate DC Grays RBI (Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities) in Washington to help more than 250 youths with equipment, uniforms, coaching tournament fees, field permits, and other necessities for a top-flight baseball and softball experience.
