Life On The Outside Begins with Unknowns!

When our prison yoga students get released, their future is as a free person, yet with myriad unknowns and vulnerabilities.
Where will they go? How will they start a life? With what resources will they leave prison?
What will their livelihood be? Will they be with family and friends?

Terry Zion and DAYA are raising money to buy tools for our student and friend, Hector Canalas.
Hector is Terry's former co-worker at OSCI when they were both serving long term sentences together.
Both became certified yoga teachers while incarcerated.
Each has served their inside community with great dedication.
Terry was released a few years ago and has established his life on the outside as a licensed electrician (he became licensable electrician while living at OSCI).
Hector Canalas will be released from prison on April 29, 2022. He is going to Lincoln County, Oregon.

I am so proud to sponsor Hector in this way because I know he has the knowledge, ability, and work ethic to use these tools to make a living.

I worked with Hector in the prison print shop where we maintained and repaired all manner of equipment, mechanical and electrical. Hector is a competent mechanic with natural aptitude. He is also generous with his time and talents. I am certain that giving Hector tools will provide him a foundation to make a living and help his family and community.

Hector was a juvenile when he went to prison. He has never been married and has no children. These tools will give Hector the means to support himself when he is released as well as a family of his own someday.

Please invest in Hector's future. It will be money well offered and we do not doubt that it will be returned to all of us in some way because we helped Hector flourish.

You don't have to purchase a complete tool or set of tools to help Hector. All donations are appreciated ($5, $10, $20).
With the number of friends Hector has, small donations are welcome and quite helpful.
