Emergency Medical Care for Bunny
Bunny was rushed to the ER VET!
January 13th, 2021
WE NEED YOUR HELP TLP Family,
You might know Bunny. We have written dozens of posts about this girl. She has spent almost her entire life at the rescue and is often overlooked when it comes to adoptions. But while Bunny may go “unseen” by potential applicants, she is very much loved by EVERYONE at TLP, especially her foster dad!
On Monday, our sweet Bunny girl was taken to the vet after showing concerning symptoms including lethargy, not eating, and having trouble going potty. After running tests, she was diagnosed with Kidney Failure.
Bunny stayed at the vet for 3 days, getting much needed fluids and rest. She was showing improvement and was released to be brought home. However, as soon as the volunteer team brought her home, they quickly realized she was not better, in fact, she was getting WORSE! Bunny could barely walk and was lethargic. She then started vomiting and was rushed to the ER, where she was immediately admitted and will be undergoing even more tests and getting much needed care for the next 24-48 hours.
This is where you come in! We need your help with Bunny’s medical care. Please help us as we fight for Bunny. We need to ensure this girl gets everything she needs, and we cannot do that without you! Her current estimated vet bill is $3,000 and could rise over the next few days depending on her results. Please donate to help cover her emergency medical expenses.

Bunny is Home! January 17, 2022
We want to start by saying THANK YOU again for all of your support and donations! We received an outpouring of love for Bunny and she was able to get the medical attention she needed.
The good news: After spending three days at the vet, running tests and receiving much needed IV fluids, Bunny was released from the hospital yesterday into the arms of her loving foster dad! At this time, she is getting some much needed rest and recovering very well. She is able to eat and keep down food, which is great news.
The not so good news: Bunny has tested positive for Addison’s disease, which occurs when adrenal glands fail to produce needed hormones in a dog’s body. This is a lifelong disease, which is manageable with proper treatment, and Bunny will need continuous attention. Bunny will still be able to live a good normal life, but it will require ongoing medication and monthly injections. Flare ups are possible, especially in stressful situations, so a relaxed life is on the books for Bunny girl.
With the monthly injections come monthly expenses. You have all stepped up for Bunny, but we’re not done yet. If you haven’t donated yet, please consider doing so. We will keep fighting for Bunny, she is so special to us and deserves the happiest life possible!
Thank you for #savingthepitbull with us!
