The San Diego chapter of Burners Without Borders, in collaboration with the 501c3 nonprofit IPHP, The International Project for Human Potential, will be heading South of the California border during the latter half of February to assist in the construction of a very needed fence at a local dog rehabilitation shelter in Baja California, Mexico.

Lynette House, is the sole participant within her colonia, making the effort to take sick and abandoned dogs off the street there, and to provide them with temporary housing and medical care. After the dogs return to good health, they are put up for free adoption for loving families in the region and in the US. Lynette is a very positive example of Human Potential, and what people are doing to actualize their potential and help those around them in whatever circumstances they are at, and with whatever resources they might have.

At this point, her home does not have a working fence around the property to contain the animals or to prevent them from being hurt by outside aggressors. Outside of the costs and need of manpower to build the fence, financial assistance is needed for the medical bills associated with this cause. Currently, costs associated to this project have been covered by Lynette and a few kind people in Baja, however she often lacks the funds to pay the veterinarian for emergency services and provide proper care for the dogs she is saving, and giving good homes to. Providing seed money is fundamental in seeing this local project, and the good that Lynette is trying to do in her colonia, stay afloat.
