Join Kentucky Waterways Alliance and our partners at Canoe Kentucky for a clean-up event on the Kentucky River in Frankfort, Kentucky. We will be canoeing and/or kayaking while cleaning up the river and its banks. You can expect to be on the water for 2-3 hours. Canoe Kentucky will be providing canoes, paddles, and life jackets. KWA will provide gloves, trash bags, and any other necessary supplies.

Please note:

• Each volunteer must complete the online registration.
• Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Following successful registration, you will receive a confirmation email with directions for completing Canoe Kentucky's liability waiver.

What to wear: Wear shoes and clothing (or swimsuits) that allow for full immersion in the water. 

What to bring with you: Please bring refillable water waters. Snacks will be available, but we will not provide lunch.

Directions to meeting site: Volunteers will gather at River View Park Boat Dock in downtown Frankfort. When navigating to River View Park Boat Dock, it is important to note volunteers should will enter across the street from Urban Woods Apt. 615 Wilkinson BLVD, Frankfort KY. The apartments are bright orange, blue, pink, and yellow. There will be a “Bourbon Boat Tours” flag at the entrance to the Boat Dock parking lot.

This is a fun day on the water, and an opportunity to keep this important waterway beautiful!
