Empty Bowls Unite
Shortening the Distance from Hunger to Hope
Second Harvest of the Greater Valley is once again hosting our annual event, Empty Bowls! While it may not look the same, the mission behind it remains, feeding our community. Empty Bowls "Unite" may have a new look and feel, but the mission is the same, shortening the distance between hope and food.
While the immediate health risk of the pandemic has lessened, the impact it has had on the economy has not. SHGV along with our Agency Partners are still seeing numbers of people in need well above the norm. We have all continued to push through to ensure those that are struggling are not going without the life-sustaining food items they so desperately need and depend on.
Through it, all our hardworking and dedicated Agency Partners (food pantries) have continued to show up and provide even when they may not have what they need to adequately continue. SHGV works with more than 90 neighborhood churches, community organizations, and county agencies. We are working towards helping them continue to build their capacity so that they can not only meet the high demand they are seeing but thrive during these difficult times.
Your donation to Empty Bowls “Unite” will allow SHGV to come alongside our partners and provide them with the opportunity to purchase the necessary equipment they need to continue expanding their services. Items like additional shelving, refrigeration, freezers, and pallet jacks. Things most people assume all food pantries will have but they oftentimes do not. Your sponsorship is so much more than a donation, its an opportunity for a community pantry to thrive and meet their maximum potential.
Won't you be a part of the solution?
The event will be held on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.
Hosted Mimosa Bar, Beer, and Wine will be available!
