Amanda Foggia - Open Heart Medical Mission
November Medical Mission

Dear Friends and Family,
I fell in love with serving others on trips to Kolkata, India and Soshanguve, South Africa. I honed my skills of working with others through years as a case manager at a medical homeless shelter and then through training as a critical care nurse in Portland, OR.

After nearly three years of working in a COVID fueled, crumbling, and stressed US healthcare system, I am searching for the original joy of serving others that led me to nursing. And maybe a little perspective too.
Your assistance would support my search for joy, perspective and allow me to join a team of healthcare professionals bringing cardiac surgery to the people of Nigeria, who otherwise would go without these life saving procedures.
The VOOM Foundation aims to treat those in underserved communities through actions such as performing open heart surgeries all the way to educating local medical staff. I can't wait to be a part of the team and assist the people in need. I hope you consider supporting my journey!
