FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS CRUCIAL TO THE SUCCESS OF OUR PROGRAM!
Three Little Birds Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support (TLB), a fiscally sponsored project of Federation of Neighborhood Centers Philadelphia (EIN 23-1630073), supports the one in four families walking the journey of pregnancy and infant loss in the greater Philadelphia and South Jersey region. TLB fills a void in the community through the delivery of peer-led and professionally supported bereavement services at no cost to the participants. This necessary, community-healing work is supported by volunteers, grants and private donations.
To lose a baby in pregnancy or in infancy is to lose all of your hopes and dreams and the possibility of what could have been. It is a unique type of loss that deserves to be acknowledged and requires communal investment for healing to occur. Your tax-deductible donation goes towards:
- Bedside Bereavement Program - We seek to bridge the gap between patient and provider when walking the journey of loss by providing a trained volunteer advocate bedside to support bonding, memory making and give the gift of infant remembrance portraiture.
- Perinatal Bereavement Training - Our Perinatal Bereavement Training Program for medical professionals and advocates empowers providers to deliver intentional, culturally responsive bereavement care in healthcare settings in addition to hands-on photography tips and tricks to support memory making, bonding and photography. We offer scholarships to volunteers who are committed to serving our Bedside Bereavement Program.
- Legacy Projects - Legacy projects engage loss families in activities and service in honor of their beloved babies. These projects or events also provide an outlet for families to continue to parent their baby after loss.
- Signature events - We gather as a community annually to honor Bereaved Mother's Day, Bereaved Father's Day and the Wave of Light which is celebrated every October 15th to note Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day.
- Updated resources and comfort items - We are working closely with local hospitals to maintain resources that reduce the cost of printing and memory boxes and support items that provide consistency and are diverse in honoring cultural, religious and personal diversity in death rituals and disposition options.
- Virtual and in-person support groups - We offer several virtual and in-person support groups or therapy sessions for our families who do not have access to mental health professionals in addition to other peers walking similar journeys.
