Tisha B’av Collective Mourning Ceremony
Sunday, August 7, 2022
7-8:30PM eastern time
Tisha B’av is a day of collective mourning over past and present traumas. Considered the saddest day on the Jewish calendar, Tisha B’av is an opportunity to allow ourselves to feel sadness, anger, and grief at the state of the world. At Ratzon, we will have a collective mourning ceremony that honors Tisha B’av, and allows us to connect to our community even when the world feels dark. We will recite traditional Jewish mourning prayers, reflect on our personal and communal grief, and move collectively towards healing.
Location: Ratzon (indoors), hybrid available upon request. We will send the address to registered participants before the event.
We will be adhering to Ratzon’s covid protocols during this event.
Note: Some folks will be fasting during this event. We ask that folks in attendance try to maintain an environment conducive to fasting by not eating or drinking in the Ratzon space, and instead stepping outside to do so if possible.
