About this course:
Topics to be covered:
• What are the three Doshas: Vata, Pitta, Kapha
• How do the Doshas relate to the Elements of Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth
• The subtle aspects of the three Doshas: Ojas, Tejas and Prana
• Explore the subtypes of the Doshas to gain a deeper understanding of Vata, Pitta and Kapha and where they reside in the body
• Understanding Prakruti - your unique body type
• Agni: the transformative energy of the digestive system
• Ayuryoga - using the basic principles of Ayurveda to balance your Yoga practice for each season and environment as well as to your unique constitution
• Digestion and nutrition: understanding Rasa and the six tastes
This course is available for 10 Contact Hours Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits (CE).
The course will be taught virtually via Zoom. October 28 - 30, 2022
Friday: 6pm - 8 pm PST
Saturday: 10 am - 12 pm PST; and 2 pm - 4 pm PST
Sunday: 10 am - 12 pm PST; and 2 pm - 4 pm PST
Saturday and Sunday course will include short breaks plus a two hour lunch break.

Mutuality: $160 Your investment contribution helps us to provide ongoing mentorship to our Prison Yoga Teachers to support them as they lead yoga classes inside Oregon's prisons.
Accessibility: $100 We are honored to support you to attend this training and to utilize the skills gained in the service work you intend to do.
About Your Teacher: Kira Rafuse has been studying, practicing and teaching Yoga for 18 years. Her love of Sanskrit began in India when she first began to study Yoga, it then deepened when she studied Āyurveda with Dr. Lad at the Āyurvedic Institute. She went on to study with many teachers and institutions over the years to round out her Sanskrit knowledge base so she can confidently offer a foundation of Sanskrit to students of Yoga. Her studies continue today with a teacher who has a lineage in India.
