OpenSpot Theatre-Fall 2022
We're so excited to be back partnering with our friends at OpenSpot Theatre. OpenSpot Theatre’s mission is to provide a fun, creative, and inclusive arts experience that is accessible to all people. Through their rehearsal and performance process, students will experience personal affirmation, empowerment, and build important life skills.
For 6-weeks our participants will explore the three pillars of theatre (singing, acting, and dancing), theatre games/activities, and for our younger students, life skills (eye contact, manners, etc).
Each class is led by trained theatre professional and culminates in a live performance for family and friends at the end of the 6 weeks. The process of learning about the theatre and rehearsing a live show promotes teamwork, cooperation, belonging, work ethic, memory, leadership, social skills and maybe most importantly; it’s fun!
This program is open to individuals with Down syndrome ages 6 and up. Each session will take place at the Crosby Conference Center, located at the Toledo Botanical Gardens (5403 Elmer Drive, Toledo) and begin at 6pm and end at 7pm.
