VOOM Foundation nor our medical volunteers get paid for our services in Nigeria, yet there is still a cost associated to patient care in Nigeria. Families who cannot afford the cost of surgery often opt out of surgery due to lack of funds. Items such as pre and post operative scans, hospital stay, medications and items related to patient care are required by each patients. With almost 50% or the 200M living in Nigeria living under the poverty line, open-heart surgery becomes unaffordable to almost half the country. VOOM Foundation reaches out to individuals, corporations and organizations interested in granting one indigent patient the opportunity for surgery. The cost is $2,500.
