September Letter
It is hard for me to believe
that we are almost through summer! This summer, just like most of them,
had plenty of issues to deal with. Not only did we experience financial
struggles from the prices going up on just about everything, we also saw
joys and heartbreaks of dealing with folks
in need.
Currently, we are at
capacity and have no beds to offer to those who call and/or email
every week looking for an opportunity to see their lives changed. Don’t
get me wrong, I’ll thrilled that all of our beds are full and we have the
privilege of helping these men learn to make good decisions, but we know there is more to be done!
We also know that what we are doing works! In the last
few days, we have seen two more of our men complete their respective
programs, have gainful employment, and move into their own house or apartment.
Yes, there have been a few that have left the program before finishing and
return to the life that brought them here; we are disappointed any time one of
our men does not make it through.
Your partnership with the Union Gospel Mission is what has allowed us
to make such an incredible impact of the lives of hurting people, whether
through a simple meal or months of residential programming, your gift helps us to continue
"Meeting Needs, Making Change, and Magnifying Christ!"
Serving Christ and the
Community,
Rev.
Executive Director
P.S. Won’t you
prayerfully consider sending a substantial gift as soon as possible!
