2020 and 2021 were years of hardship for many and, for some, the latest pandemic and economic struggles only added to existing challenges. Great strides have been made to get a handle on COVID-19; however, the current pandemic only continues to compound the need to remain diligent in our efforts to nurture health and overall wellness in the rural communities we serve. Events and activities like MAO’s 2022 Quality of Life Expo on Friday, June 24, 2022 in Montgomery, Alabama help to bring people together, introduce them to the businesses and service providers available to them, routinely and in times of crisis. The theme of the 2022 Quality of Life Expo is Connecting Communities Together from All Walks of Life. MAO invites you and the public at large to take advantage of this new spin on the typical health and business expo. The Quality of Life Expo is dedicated to connecting area residents with LGBTQiA-friendly businesses and service providers as well as those owned or operated by people of color.  In its more than 35 year history of battling HIV, Hepatitis C, diabetes and opioids in South Alabama’s rural communities, MAO understands too well how stigma and failure to connect can weaken lives, homes and communities. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the lives of the people of Alabama’s River Region by supporting and being an active participant in the Quality of Life Expo. How? Become an Exhibitor or Vendor, OR become a Sponsor. Choose a level that works with your budget and goals $2,500, $1,500, $750, $250), or at a custom level to support event catering, marketing or public incentive prizes. Beyond the event itself, any net proceeds not utilized for the delivery of the event will be dedicated to the ongoing support MAO provides its clients through Consumer Support Services. You can help MAO not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay and guarantee the resources are there when our clients need them most.

As a health care and health education organization, in its management of the Quality of Life Expo, MAO will make sure current COVID safety protocols are followed; however, meeting people face-to-face will, in and of itself, will be a critical action that inches us toward a return to normality AND connects people with your services and with each other after a period of isolation and hesitation. As a Sponsor, your organization will also receive exposure at a fraction of the cost of conventional marketing and be investing in services aimed at preserving Alabama’s greatest resource – its people.
