Capturing Light-Interpreting Values & Shapes

In this workshop you will explore the art of “Interpreting Light”. This approach can be explored in both landscapes and urbanscapes as well as a variety of other subject matter.
We begin with a digital slide show of Desmond's work, including step-by-steps of works in progress. Lecture topics include “infusing light” and conveying energy with your technique. Everything is designed to help you reach the next level in your painting.
For all levels of oil and pastel painters. The workshop is designed for students to experiment outside their comfort zone. Workshop will include lectures on a variety of art topics as well as daily demos.

About Your Instructor:
Desmond O’Hagan was born in Wiesbaden, Germany and was raised in the United States. He enjoys working in a variety of media, but his primary focus is pastels and oils. Constantly challenging himself has translated into a fulfilling career in fine art encompassing several one-man shows and participation in group exhibitions in the United States, Japan, China, and France.
Desmond’s art has been the subject of feature articles in numerous magazines including “The Pastel Journal“ (December 2010, May/ June 2003), “American Art Collector” (August 2008, May 2007), “International Artist” (February 2001), and many more.
