The Southeast Michigan Stewardship (SEMIS) Coalition's 2022 year end goal is to raise the funds necessary to cover the cost of nutritious, local food for all 2023 Community Forum attendees. Watch a short video below from our Leadership Team Member Nigora about what SEMIS is all about.

More about this youth-centered event:

Once a year at the SEMIS Community Forum we bring students, teachers, partners, and families together from across the 30 schools we work with to share their work and discuss in an intergenerational setting issues of public concern. The Community Forum is an opportunity for youth leaders and activists from Detroit, Ypsilanti, Dexter, and other areas of Southeast Michigan to talk about issues they care about in a community where their voices matter. The day features youth-led presentations on air quality, water safety, green infrastructure and more, and intergenerational dialogue that includes everyone from kindergartners to college students to school administrators.
