$10,000 MATCH CHALLENGE RECEIVED!
On Sunday, November 27th, an anonymous donor has pledged to give a $10,000 Match donation if we hit our $10,000 goal this Giving Tuesday. HELP US TAKE THIS FUNDRAISER TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
A Lacrosse Program Grows in Brooklyn. After a 5-year marathon effort, stalled by the Pandemic, CityLax has been working with the Department of Education to get a lacrosse program established at the Frank J Macchiarola (FJM) High School in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn. CityLax was recently informed the school was given the “green light” to start boys and girls varsity teams in Spring 2023 that will compete in the Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) scholastic season!
The students and coaches at FJM are now, finally, poised to begin their lacrosse journey and become part of our growing City lacrosse community built over 16 years. There is real excitement in the school to bring on a new sport.
Our Challenge. With this approval comes the challenge to outfit their players properly with sticks, pads, helmets, goalie gear, goals, balls and uniforms. 5 years ago, CityLax pledged to be there to help FJM High School if and when they were awarded a lacrosse program and now it’s our turn to help make the program a reality.
Giving Tuesday Goal. On Giving Tuesday 2022, we are trying to raise funds to help provide the equipment needed to put the FJM High School Program on the lacrosse field this Spring. Our fundraising goal to support the rise of lacrosse at this high school in Brooklyn on this national day of giving is $10,000.
