Let Your Light Shine
The Shining Stars is a cheer team, not for athletes with "disabilities," but for athletes with "different" abilities! Open to girls AND boys 4 and up, these special athletes train at Hot Shots Cheerleading Center in Rome and are sponsored by the Mission IsPossible Foundation, a Floyd county non-profit that advances local outreach by empowering "missioners" of all ages and abilities. Having just completed their 15th season, the Shining Stars train annually from July through November, performing locally for Cheerleading Night at the Coosa Valley Fair, regionally for the Rock n Cheer Pep Rally, and for the entire state of Georgia at the GHSA State Cheerleading Championships in Macon. Coached by Amanda Williams, a former Hot Shots All Star and NCA Collegiate National Champion with Kennessaw State University, and Emily Thompson, a former Model Coed Blue Devil and NCA Collegiate Champion with Shorter University, the Shining Stars are the official "community cheer team" representing all of Northwest Georgia. Thanks to your support of these amazing young people, the Shining Stars will continue to LET THEIR LIGHT SHINE in the 2023 season and beyond!
