Join Lisa for the Gallinago Go Gos’ 18th year in the Fall Challenge, and the first year as part of the Bird Photo Big Day! No matter if you are an experienced birder, or if this is your first bird-a-thon, the Go Gos welcome all birding levels. The goal is to get out and have a great time while learning about the birds that can be found in the fall at Los Gatos Creek Park in Campbell. The group will travel roughly two miles on flat trails looking for a variety of species found in riparian habitats, and especially hope to see the team's namesake species, the Common Snipe! Lisa will spend the 4-hour birdathon birding throughout the trails found in this Bay Area hot spot. Photographer Sreedhara Alavattam will also be joining the field trip to offer tips and help participants who are interested in taking great bird photos that day and we encourage everyone to submit their photos to our Bird Photo Big Day to help add to our species list.

Lisa owns her own touring company called Let’s Go Birding, Inc., and leads tours throughout California and Central America. She also teaches birding classes and provides a fun, easy-going environment to learn, ask questions, and increase skill levels. Lisa also owns the Los Gatos Birdwatcher, a strong business supporter of SFBBO. Sreedhara has been photographing for about 15 years, got into bird photography in 2017, and now leads the Bay Area Bird Photography group run by the Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society. 

This field trip is part of SFBBO's 2022 California Fall Challenge (CFC) Bird Photo Big Day. This activity is a fundraiser, so we hope that, in addition to registering, you will consider giving generously for birds and help us continue conserving them for many decades to come.

While the Go Gos and SFBBO welcome support from everyone, the walk will be limited to 10 participants. This field trip is recommended for adults and children 12 and older. 

All volunteers and participants will be asked to please follow SFBBO's Covid-19 Prevention Policy protocols:

• Wear a well-fitting mask at all times during the event
• Stay 6 feet apart from others who are not in your household
• HEALTH CHECK - prior to the event all participants will be asked to sign and return a liability waiver and to do a self-health assessment at home and fill out a form asking if they are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms and if they or anyone they live with have Covid-19 or have been in contact with anyone who has Covid-19. If you answer yes to any of these, we hope you can still support the California Fall Challenge but ask you to please stay home.

2022 CFC T-Shirt: A donation of $70 or more is eligible to receive our 2022 CFC T-Shirt. This year's shirt was designed by Anqi Chen and showcases Bushtits, a species we often see at our Coyote Creek Field Station. The estimated value of the shirt ($20) is not tax-deductible.
