Catalina Island 7th Grade ESM Field Trip 2024
3 days, 2 nights Outdoor Education program
For the past 9 years, Friends of King has been able to partner with our 7th grade teachers in offering students the opportunity to participate in a 3-day, 2-night outdoor camp program on Catalina Island through the Catalina Environmental Leadership Program (CELP). This year we are excited to announce that we would like our 7th grade ESM students to also experience CELP on Catalina Island (CELP.net). Some of the highlights include snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, sustainable gardening, and campfire! This year's trip is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, February 28th--Friday, March 1st.
Friends of King is committed to providing support for the enrichment learning opportunities for all students, regardless of a family's ability to pay. The total cost of the trip, including transportation (bus and boat), food, lodging and equipment for activities is only $200 per student this year due to a grant. The success of this trip is based on raising enough funds to cover the cost of the trip that is not covered by the grant for all students who want to attend. If you are unable to contribute the full amount, please enter the contribution you are able to make in the "enter your own amount" box and click continue. If you are able to contribute more than $200 and help other students and their families, please click on an amount shown or enter the total amount you are contributing into the box below.
You can donate online or bring cash/check payable to Friends of King and give it to Mr. Cantatore. You can contribute all at once, or break it up into payments. The deadline for final contribution is Friday, January 12th.
