Give hope and build families this holiday season

The decision to bring a child into this world is exciting! It's a time of optimism as hopes, dreams and plans for the future begin.

Sadly, for many, the road to family life is complex. 1 in 8 couples struggle to conceive. Some have infertility. Some are in same-sex relationships. Some have genetic disorders they do not want to pass on to future generations. 


The Chicago Coalition for Family Building was founded on the belief that everyone who wants to build a family deserves the chance. Your support has helped us donate more than $1.2m to 140 recipients and to celebrate 71 new babies. 


We could not do this without you, and nor could Kayla and Evan.





When Kayla and Evan started family planning - they knew it wouldn’t be easy. Kayla had severe endometriosis and Evan also had fertility issues. But, after two years of trying to no avail, Kayla and Evan decided to seek additional medical help. 

Kayla says, “I just couldn’t emotionally do it anymore. Everyone around me was getting pregnant. I wanted to be excited for my friends, but it was just heartbreaking every time there was a ‘new baby’ announcement.”


They both had great jobs, but their insurance would not cover infertility treatment. So, Kayla and Evan applied to the Coalition in 2021 and received a donated IVF cycle from one of our Partner Practices. They welcomed their twins to the world this year!






Kayla and Evan's story is, sadly, not unique. One in eight struggle with infertility and insurance coverage for fertility is not guaranteed. 

But, with your support, we can help more people achieve their dream of family. 

Our mission is to remove financial barriers that prevent the creation of a family. We take action to financially and emotionally support those struggling with infertility. We host events, provide support networks, and give financial grants.

Currently we are able to award one in five applicants with a grant. Our goal is to help everyone who applies.
