Lending Some Love
Teri Kizer
UPDATE 1-27-23:
Thank you for your continued support. You may or may not know but Teri has been placed in hospice. Your outpouring of love has been very humbling. Any donations will be used for the family during this difficult time as Teri enters this next chapter of her cancer journey. Please share and send prayers for a peaceful transition and lift her family with love.
Teri is a mom of two young boys and a wife. At the young age of 41, Teri was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Hearing the words "you have cancer" is one of the hardest things she has ever experienced. The oncology surgical team removed a tumor from her pancreas and also removed her spleen in June 2019. Teri continued to put her life back together and make memories with her family.
In August 2021, Teri went to the Dr. with what she thought she had was Covid. The Dr. did an X-Ray; didn't like what she saw and knowing her past history with cancer sent her back to Temple. The oncologist looked at the X-Ray ad told her he didn't see anything or a need for a PET Scan. She continued to not feel well and was able to get a new oncologist in March 2022 in Waco. The oncologists there did a complete body scan and she was told her cancer was Stage IV, metastatic pancreatic cancer as cancer metastasized to her lower stomach and left ovary. The chemotherapy she completed did not work and is now on immunotherapy as of this October. The pharmaceutical company approved treatments and helped pay for them because Medicaid wouldn't.
Teri has applied for all government and state assistance and just trying to keep her head above water with just everyday living expenses as it takes so long to get everything approved in a timely manner. There is no cure for her cancer and she is terminal. However long she may have she will fight as hard as she can to be here for her kids.
All proceeds will be used to help pay for the everyday cost of living while fighting this cancer.
