The Angel K Love Project is a farm-based project for kids that supports mental health and holistic wellness through animals and nature. As you might have heard, the pandemic also brought us a nationwide mental health crisis for kids of all ages. Many kids are spending the majority of their day on a bluescreen rather than being in nature or exercising. This has caused a handful of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, depression and more.
The Angel K Love Project farmstead provides an inclusive and safe space for kids, of all colors, sexual orientations, and abilities, who need a more natural approach to healing. This year alone we were able to support 40 kids with their mental health challenges through Animal Centered Therapy (with horses, goats, and pigs), Horticulture Therapy (with a tea garden), Goat Yoga (with pigs too) and Mindfulness activities.
In 2023, we have some BIG goals that we really need financial support with. Our goal this year is to raise $75,000 in order to serve more kids in need.
Here's what your gift will help us do in 2023:
- Invest in more animals on the farm (like chickens and mini donkeys) to support more kids with Animal Centered Therapy.
- Hire more part-time staff and one equine specialist to teach customized equine therapy lessons.
- Invest in gardening materials to grow our Horticulture Therapy project. We will would love the kids to build another garden bed (and someday a greenhouse).
- General farm maintenance repairs, emergency repairs, and vet bills.
